Welcome to my Website and Blog – I was born outside London early in WW2 and went to Dulwich Prep before going on to Whitgift School. I then studied Medicine at King’s College London and Westminster Hospital Medical School. Later, having specialised as a surgeon, I spent many years overseas, both in the beautiful twin-islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis in the West Indies, and also in the Seychelles, where I spent 3 years before sailing a small (30 foot) Ketch back to SKN from that Indian Ocean Archipelago. I am now retired and live in both St. Kitts and Nevis with my wife, and three dogs – who seem to enjoy their occasional commute by ferry between the islands. Now, apart from writing, my other interests still include sailing and bee-keeping.
In my three books, I tell about
The Strange Adventures of Charlie Foster
In the first,
‘The Trouble With Charlie Foster’ – Charlie’s boyhood starts in war-time London and continues through school-days. Then on to Medical School and the sexual revolution that was London in the 1960’s. Following a period of self-searching he then goes out to the West Indies. In a tale told with pathos, humour and intrigue right up to the last page.
This was followed by,
‘The Man Who Forgot’ – One night a body is pulled from the sea near an Eastern Caribbean island by Colombian drug smugglers. The corpse turns out to be not quite dead. But the man has amnesia. Should they throw him back in the sea? Hold him for ransom? Or what? The subsequent events give rise to this fast moving tale of adventure, revolution violence, murder and intrigue, in a country at war with itself. This leads to a voyage of psychological discovery as he struggles to re-discover his past and find his place in an uncertain future.
Then finally you may read about,
‘Whatever Happened to Charlie Foster’– A man loses his memory in an accident. He has spent over two years with Colombian rebels, and has now been shipwrecked on a small Pacific Atoll. He is in the company of two Swiss psychologists. Some of his old skills have re-emerged. But does he have enough to survive the ensuing adventure including facing a firing squad. The banner headline read: SHOOT ME – Doctor tells how he prevented Tanzanians from killing captured Seychelles Mercenaries. Beneath the bold text was a photograph taken in ‘JAHO’s cabin together with a small portrait snap of each of the two prisoner-patients showing their facial injuries.
I hope you’ll visit the BOOKSHOP link and enjoy Charlie’s adventures.
